"....... Wow"

date: December 11, 2009

I remember watching Bitey of Brackenwood a couple years back when it was new, and not liking it. I was an idiot back then. I gave this new one a shot, and after watching it, I ust had to go back and watch the rest of this spectacular series. Every time, I feel as if I'm in the theater watching a high end feature film. The stunning animation, the delightful music, the wonderful characters, the beautiful world you've created and all manage to convey humor, wonder and emotion without using hardly any dialogue at all. Your animation skills are simply unparalleled to any other flash animation I've ever seen. All I can say now is, fantastic job, and I excitedly look forward to your next, undoubtedly amazing, installment.

"Good casual game"

submission: Hotel Management
date: November 9, 2009

Yep, that pretty much sums it up. I always like games where you upgrade things. Good graphice, nice music. The only real complaint I have, is that when whipping the mouse about, the laundry can be a bit hard to click sometimes. Other than that, it's good for what it is. I have to laugh at the costumers that demand services you don't have. Once again, let us look into how this silly situation may play out in real life

Customer: I'd like a massage
Staff: I'm sorry, we don't offer massages here
Customer: Shiatsu please!
Staff:... We don't offer massages.
Customer: Uh huh.... Any masseuses free now?
Staff: We don't have any. We don't offer massages.
Customer: THIS IS TAKING TOO LONG! F*^K THIS MASSAGE PARLOR!

Well, thanks for sharing this with us!

However all the setups felt forced and created solely for the punchline. Edward just seemed to randomly say he couldn't be killed just so Voldemort could kill him. Why would he feel the need to explain his immortality to a girl that knows about vampires? Which brings me to the second joke. Bella knows about vampires somehow doesn't know that vampires are immortal and finds the concept of immortality stupid? Eh, I don't mean to sound rude, I'm just trying to give you some constructive criticism.

Dark Cut 3

"Not terrible, not great"

submission: Dark Cut 3
date: November 18, 2008

It could be better, however it's a good time killer. I have played the full version and beaten every operation, so I definitely feel fit to review this game properly

Pros

- As I said, good time killer to beat boredom for a few minutes

-Graphics are pretty nice. When you compare the graphics of DC 2 and 3 to 1, it's pretty surprising what a jump you've made between games in graphic quality. Graphics aren't everything, but good graphics certainly do make it easier for a gamer to become involved in gameplay.

-Good music! Music ranges from relaxed and somber to intense and dramatic.

- Fantastic concept of being able to go back in time to save your old family members

Cons

- The cursor is far too picky, especially when stitching. You almost need to put the cursor dead center of the target square for the game to read that the cursor is there when stitching

The operations where one must carefully move an object without touching the white lines on either side are a bit far-fetched. If one does touch these borders, the object goes back in. The problem with these levels is not the difficulty of moving the object properly, but rather how something like this would play out in reality

Doctor: Ooh, sorry, soldier. I accidentally moved this metal a little bit further left than I wanted to.
Soldier: That's alright
Doctor: Nah, I better put it back in and try again till I can pull it out perfectly!
Soldier: What the-
Doctor: *shoves metal back in*
Soldier: OW! That hurt!
Doctor: Oops, went a little too far to the right this time
Soldier: NO, DON'T-
Doctor: *shoves metal in*
Soldier: AAAAH! WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!

A more acceptable penalty for believability and gameplay purposes would have been loss of health for the patient.

-There is no good difficulty level in this game. Either you can choose to sedate the patient and easily breeze through the operation even if you sedate only once, or you can choose NOT to sedate and fight against a nearly impossible time constraint. There needs to be some level in between to make a truly good game.

- The concept of the story is indeed fantastic. To travel through time, in a way, and save lives long since thought to be gone forever. The concept of time travel is indeed an intriguing one. Then when the computer mentions that to change one person's fate is to inadvertently affect the fate of a million others brought up yet another fascinating topic to contemplate. However, the story fails to go any deeper then the mere mention of these topics. How the player inadvertently alters the fate of other gene lines is never shown in any way whatsoever. The patients we saved and directly changed the fates of are only barely explained. I understand it is only an online game and not a home console game, but when some follow ups are as generic and uninformative as, "Guy Meadows recovered after his large pustule outbreak" it definitely leaves something to be desired.

**SPOILER ALERT**

- At the end, if the doctor had a saw handy, couldn't he/she have sawed through the uplink device rather than his/her own arm?

**ALL CLEAR, SPOILERS OVER**

I have been a fan of the Dark Cut series from the start. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this one just isn't up to par with the other 2.

Pandemic II

"Good, but quite flawed"

submission: Pandemic II
date: July 21, 2008

I enjoyed your first Pandemic quite a bit, and this one did indeed have some improvements. First, let's get to the pros

Pros:
- Fun and pretty easy to grasp gameplay
- It's a pretty good stress reliever
- You made Europe easy to infect!
- Fairly decent replay value

Cons:
- Even on maximum speed, the game sometimes seems to progress at a boringly slow rate later in the game when your evolution points start coming in very very slowly
- In exchange for Europe's infectivity rate going up, you've given us.... Madagascar..... *shudder* The safe haven of all who wish to be free of illness. You've given it only one ship yard. Period. If you didn't start from there, chances are it's gonna stay safe.
- Even when playing with a virus, once the game begins to progress, evolution points are accumulated WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too slow. Given the fact that we now have to unlock tiers of symptoms with evolution points, and that a lot of things are considerably more expensive than the previous game, you should probably either lower the costs of certain symtoms, or increase the evo point rate. If you're playing with the parasite, and it's later in the game, you can forget it. Countries will close borders and do everything to prevent infection while you're sitting there getting 1 evo point every couple minutes, and with anything worth buying costing upwards of 10 points, you'd might as well just give up and watch the game play out.
- It makes no sense that if a disease has absolutely no visibility and, more importantly, no symptoms, meaning that even if doctors miraculously DID find the disease via some bloodwork someone sent in for an unrelated test, it would look entirely harmless to any doctors/scientists not involved with its creation. This makes the actions of the world leaders (sealing their countries off from everyone else, burn bodies, declare martial law etc) make no sense at all! It's almost as if they suddenly went crazy and started randomly ordering crazy things to be done, and our evil scientist just happened to release his/her disease in the midst of the crazy. Could you imagine how this would work in real life?

Doctor: Hey, guys. I've found this new kind of bacteria in this blood over here
Doctor 2: Oh! What does it do?
Doctor: Well.... from what I can tell.... nothing
Doctor 2: Nothing?
Doctor: Nothing at all
Doctor 2:.... My gosh! Someone inform the president!
President: SHUT DOWN THE BORDERS, THE SCHOOLS, BURN BODIES!

That being said, I do find this game fairlyy enjoyable to play with, but those flaws are pretty noticeable. I hope that if you make a part three, you can address these flaws and make a near, if not totally perfect game. Thank you for sharing your game with us. I look forward to more from you in the future

Castle Crashing the Beard

"Great!"

date: April 15, 2008

This game is fun! I've played it a bunch of times, and maxed out my levels. Fighting Tom is like fighting Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts. He's wicked hard until you figure out his patterns. The only thing I don't understand is, where does the falling bread fit in? I guess my only possible complaint is that attack where he turns his mustache into a spinning blade is near impossible to avoid unless you're in a wide open area, and Tom almost always uses that attack when I'm backed into a corner. Other than that, this is a really good game. Good graphics, good music and it's so cool that Tom himself voiced his character! Such a good sport he is going along with a game where the objective is to beat the living snot out of him!

Pillage the Village

"Good, but flawed"

date: March 11, 2008

Alright, let me get right to it

Pros

%u2022 Fun to play for good periods of time
%u2022 Great graphics, especially when compared to the original
%u2022 Pretty cool spells that are fun to use
%u2022 New Game + mode is great

Cons

%u2022 Sandbox mode is only fun for very short periods of time
%u2022 A lot of the guys in red jumpsuits that extend wings to prevent falling from their deaths refuse to take damage when actually thrown to the ground, forcing you to use a spell and use mana that you didn't want to
%u2022 Layering of the field causes problems. Enemies that seem to be on the same layer as another somehow aren't captured in the slave cage as the other enemy which seems to be right next to them. Coins hide behind stone heads and huts that you're not ready to remove yet and vanish before reaching the other side causing you to lose money
%u2022 Mana drains just by selecting a spell, so if you accidentally select a spell you didn't want, like if I accidentally pushed the button for euthanasia, when I wanted the slave cage, I needlessly used mana. I think mana should only drain when a spell is actually used.
%u2022 Mana drains quickly and the upgrades for regeneration and more mana are expensive, which brings me to the biggest con plaguing the game
%u2022 Prices for upgrades. Prices quickly become absolutely outrageous for the rate you collect money, even when you've got the upgrade that allows for maximum money collection. 60,000 and 90,000 for the final mana upgrades? 40,000 for the FIRST my little pwny upgrade? 10,000 for the trap upgrade? You realize that the trap upgrade only allows ONE extra person to leave. 10,000 for one person is just not worth it. I don't even want to know what the second upgrade for the trap would cost. It would really help if it was less expensive because some levels can really come down to the wire, but not at 10,000 gold. That's many many many levels worth of gold. There's just no balance in the gold per level and upgrade costs. This alone takes my rating of the game down a point. Fix this, and it would be a much better game.

Either way, I thank you for taking the time and effort to make a generally fun game and I do hope that you are able to fix some of the problems I mentioned

Age of War

"Very nice"

submission: Age of War
date: November 26, 2007

This game is so creative! It was just so cool battling through all the ages, it truly was cool. I loved the specials, so super powerful. Anyway, I agree about the turret complaints, in the last level they have way too far of a range, and NO turret should be able to hit the base on the opposite side. Anyway, the future age;s soldiers were so awesome, but the only way I can get the super soldiers is to buy four lazer cannons and sit there forever while the cannons blast absolutely everything. When you get the super soldiers, boy are they worth it. Super amounts of HP, good melee strength and the ability to shoot! Wow! When I finally won, I noticed something though. The message reads, VICTORY! Congratulations, you won the war and destroyed you ennemy....... Ennemy? I beat the game and get greeted with a spelling mistake?! I suppose it could be worse, you could spelled congratulations like the NES version of Ghostbusters did.... conglaturation.... Other than that, this game was great. It's entertaining and so creative and I look forward to a sequel, or even just another game from you!

Swept to the End

"Wow"

submission: Swept to the End
date: October 30, 2007

This game was definitely one of the better ones on this site. I liked the silhouette style you have here, and the music and style of animation put you in the mood of the moment. I wanted to save the people in the fire :(. I saw his wife burning and thought ".....Dang". Each level was just as entertaining, if not more, then the last. Those trolls were cool things, and I loved having the power of lightening. My only possible complaint is that the final bosses laugh got REALLY annoying REALLY fast. I wasn't frustrated during that level, so it wasn't because of that, but that's rather minor compared to the rest o the game which is GREATNESS! Good job, and again I have to say, I really liked the silhouette thing you had going. Thank you for taking the time to make this game and share it with us :)

Hangman Extreme!

"Good concept, flawed execution"

submission: Hangman Extreme!
date: October 18, 2007

It is nicely drawn, I'll give you that, but I think the time bar runs out a bit too fast and a wrong letter takes away too much time. I also think as others do that you need to have a category so we know what kind of word we're trying to figure out otherwise it's completely a completely random "Push buttons until you get it right" sort of thing. All this makes it highly unlikely that you'd actually correctly get a word. Also, one time I knew what the word was, but I didn't have enough time to type it in. Maybe you should add a "guess word" button which freezes time and has you type in the whole word, but it doesn't tell you if the letters are right or wrong until you enter it and if you're wrong it's an instant lose. Finally, it was rather irritating that with all that difficulty, when you win and guess a word, that's it. You're left with nothing but the "satisfaction" that you finally guessed one right. No animation of him avoiding his death, not even the words "you won" on the screen, you just hear a ding and then onto the next word. Maybe when you fix these flaws I'll think better of this game, but unfortunately for now, I must give it this low score. I'm sorry.
